Improving Health and Fitness Project

Want to be more active, but using a local gym isn’t for you?

The gym isn’t the only place you can go to improve your health and getting fit doesn’t have to cost the world!

Walking, gardening and cycling are all relatively low cost and a great way to stay fit and healthy.

If you think there is scope for a walking club, climbing club, a pram walking club or any other sort of activity in your area that gets people active, get in touch and we will work together to ensure everyone has an opportunity to improve their health in a friendly and fun way!

Our aim to tackle high levels of inactivity and obesity featured in the Cluster population by:

•             Promoting physical activity  through community events to identify community buy-in to specific initiatives

•             Supporting the creation and development of community-led physical activity initiatives

•             Work with existing groups to incorporate exercise on their regular sessions

•             Promoting young people to be trained and deliver physical activity sessions.
