Supporting Family Learning

The main aim of this project is to help parents support their child’s or children’s learning and creates opportunities for parents to become more involved with their child’s school and take part in family learning activities.

We work with a number of schools to provide workshops and other informal sessions that will not only teach skills, but help overcome barriers and encourage interaction between family members. In the first quarter of 2016-17 we delivered opportunities in 10 primary schools across the area.

We are currently focussing on the Family Learning Signature to help families explore and understand their attitudes and behaviours in relation to learning, helping them to understand and cater to each other’s learning styles and to develop a clear vision for their whole family’s learning.

If you are a parent and would like to complete a Family Learning Signature to ensure you are doing the very best you can to support your child, please get in touch. We are also keen to hear from parents interested in setting up after school clubs, or indeed any other ideas that you feel would benefit families in your school.

Who’s it for? Parents who would like to spend quality time with their children in a fun and friendly environment.
